Cynthia DeAngelo
Entrepreneur and Small Business Owner

Cynthia DeAngelo’s license through the StepS process allows her to offer On-Premise training classes for servers, bartenders, managers and bouncers checking ID to teach responsible alcohol service to all participants mandated by Illinois law to obtain their BASSET certification. The course is approved by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, designed to meet the new mandatory Alcohol Server requirements and includes the official Illinois BASSET certification card for all participants.

Cynthia is dedicated to educate restaurant owners, managers and staff on DRAM shop state laws and to create a safer environment within communities where establishments are serving alcohol. Most rewarding is seeing the positive effect the program has on the community. In early 2017 Step Solution of Illinois, Inc. has plans to add the ServSafe Food Safety Program, as required by law in the State of Illinois.

Cynthia, an Italian American native of Chicago lived on the west side where she and her 6 siblings learned the ropes of the restaurant industry while working for their family’s owned and operated restaurants

As a teen Cynthia was sent every winter to help her Aunt out in the legendary restaurant of 33 years, Perrina’s Italian restaurant of Palm Springs, CA. At Perrina’s, she spent much of her time working in the kitchen under the direction of the great Chef Salvatore Verde of Agrigento, Italy and managing the dining room on the weekends under the management of Jim Talley. It was there that Cynthia met a financial trader from the Chicago Board of Trade, who commissioned her to travel to London, England to train the wait staff and to write the training manual for their new restaurant “Chapel of Lafayette”, North end road, London.

In 2001 that opportunity prompted Cynthia to start her own company
STEP Solution, for servers training & etiquette performance. In 2003 Cynthia become a licensed TIPS trainer (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) and BASSET (Beverage Alcohol Sellers/Servers Education & Training) instructor/educator for the state of Illinois. In 2020, she added CE Domestic Violence training to licensed beauty professionals.

Cynthia met and married her husband, of today, Larry DeAngelo. After taking some time off to spend some quality time with her husband, who is very active in the music world where he has performed for many audiences throughout the Chicago area, and their three girls, she had the opportunity in 2016 to incorporate Step Solution with the State of Illinois under the new name of Step Solution of Illinois, Inc.
